Rolex Learning Center

The Rolex Learning Center is the gateway to the EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne). It contains a library, working areas, restaurants, conference rooms, as well as countless services available to the institute’s students and staff.

This building has been designed by the Japanese architecture agency SANAA, which won the architecture competition launched by EPFL in 2004 and who is the 2010 “Pritzker Architecture Prize” laureate. These architects, who also designed the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York, created an undulating, light-filled and airy structure opposite Lake Geneva. The interior of the building features light wells, indoor hills and spectacular patios and is destined to mark the beginning of a new architectural era in the field of exchanging ideas and information.

As a place of learning, information and life, the Rolex Learning Center intends to adapt to the pedagogic, social and technical evolution.
